Do tif in a vald

'Do tif in a vald' (There, deep in a forest) is sung here by the young Polish-Jewish survivor Israel Unikowski during an interview with the Latvian-American psychologist David Boder near Paris in August 1946. Unikowski recalled the song from the time of his internment. Because of the poor sound quality, some of the words are not audible, but the song seems to describe the experience of imprisonment and a feeling of being cut off from the world.
