Chorał z Piekła Dna
The Polish song ‘Chorał z Piekła Dna’ (Chorale from the Depths of Hell) was written in Sachsenhausen by the 24-year-old Warsaw poet and journalist Leonard Krasnodębski in 1942, and had its melody composed by Aleksander Kulisiewicz. The words express despair at the apathy of the world and plead desperately that someone, 'Hear our chorale from the depths of hell!'
